2020 was a hard year for the whole world, however very fortunately for me and the creative team here in the small town of Nimbin in NSW Australia, it was a very productive time. So many businesses had ground to a halt and everybody was scrambling to find a way to make a living from home or online. Luckily for my project (The Adventures Of Ezekiel - audiobook) staying at home and getting stuck into editing, recording and post production was exactly what we needed to do... And boy did we have fun doing it! Currently, in May of 2021 Season One is in its final stages of completion before its release and already I’m looking ahead.
Well to be honest I‘ve never stopped looking ahead. Even last year when my little part of recording had finished, I moved forward with the final drafts of Season Two and got to work reading them to the students at Tuntable Falls Community School. I do this for a few reasons, but the main ones are, I love it, it’s so much fun! Plus, I get to test out where my stories need to be improvement and reworked. Working with the kids to create amazing adventure stories lead me to expand my project into another possible venture too. I was excited to take Season One (to start with) and turn it into a teacher resource. So I took my idea and teamed up with a wonderful woman by the name of Sophia... Sophia had already (very successfully) written and published a teacher resource in the past and she also had 35 years experience under her belt as a primary school teacher. Perfect! I absolutely LOVE that women! Sophia has been a lot of fun to work with and I’m pleased to say we are making great strides in that area.
Another call to action within the project is, that we start recording Season Two in a few days. I’m pumped about this, as I love bringing the characters to life by narrating and also doing some character voices as well. Season Two pushes the learning curve of the main character Ezekiel quite far in challenging and super fun ways... This has been the best part about doing something creative. I get to delve into the adventures with my character.
AND of course the journey continues into Season Three! I am happy to say in the beginning of this year I have managed to complete its 3rd draft and in a few weeks will begin reading them to the students, thus completing the cycle again.... As I said, “it’s gunna be a big year! I can’t wait to keep you updated for the launch of my stories.
Much love and adventure,
Holly
